Digital Collage: She Lives in Fairy Tales and Castles
I knew I had wanted to create a collage using this building from Yew Dell Botanical Gardens just north of Louisville. Once I got it situated in the frame I knew exactly how I wanted all the elements to be incorporated into the piece. This image is a reflection of childhood memories. She longs to live in her fantasy world inside a magnificent castle. Floating up into space with her long lost childhood companions. The bald eagle watches over her as her imagination slowly drifts off into her land of fantasy.

Started this collage off with a photo from Yew Dell Botanical Gardens and a little photoshop paint.
Nothing like a galaxy for a fairy tale sky. Put a placement mask for a figure inside the doorway for later.
Adding in the stone pathway to curve around the castle was a pain. Think it took 6-7 different manipulations and transformations of this photo of a stone path I had taken to get it to look right.
Added in a photo of Nolin lake. Got to have a moat!
Added in floating children in the sky.
Finally added in the figure in the doorway and then began some painting and exposure work.
More painting, exposure and gradient work.
Added in the moon, balloons and worked on the final exposure correction.
