The base of this image was taken in Bellingham, Washington. I lived less than a mile from the North Chuckanut Trailhead. The trailhead split off into so many miles of trails. I spent a good portion of the 9 months that I lived there hiking these trails. Panoramics are mostly what I photographed with the intention of stitching them together to convey how vast these woods were. The idea behind this piece was to show my love for hiking in the mountains. A large single beam illuminates the ghostly child as she walks carefully across a fallen tree. Fireflies begin to glow throughout the woods as she guides herself towards the light.
